#GetWellSoon 5 Natural & Super Simple Home Remedies For A Sore Throat

Sore throats are usually due to a lack of sleep, stress, consuming too much junk food (or all of the above) and will almost most definitely turn into a hacking cough which will then turn into a full-on flu in less than a week. Not fun. 


Before you run to the doctor to get a bunch of antibiotics and yucky-tasting lozenges, try these all-natural home remedies for your sore throat! 



#1 Salt Water Gargle

Whenever I get an inkling of irritation in my throat, I immediately use this home remedy. Salt water can help to loosen any phlegm lining and irritating the walls of your throat and can aid in flushing out bacteria.

All you have to do is fill a glass with warm water and stir in 1/2 a teaspoon of salt until it’s fully dissolved and gargle. Do it three to four times a day. 



#2 ACV & Raw Honey

I cannot and will not stop raving about the benefits of apple cider vinegar. It helps to clear up acne as well as speeds up weight loss and yes, apple cider vinegar can be used to banish your sore throat too! 


Because of its anti-bacterial properties, ACV will help to kill any bacteria lingering in your throat. Drinking ACV will lower the pH of the throat tissue, which prevents the growth and spread of bacteria. Combining it with raw honey (which is also an anti-bacterial superfood and can also be used to suppress an annoying cough) will give you an incredible home remedy that will ease the swelling and discomfort in your throat while keeping the infection under control. 


Mix 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with 1/2 tablespoon of raw honey in a glass of water. Drink three to four times a day until your symptoms fully disappear. 



#3 Peppermint Tea

Menthol is the main active compound found in peppermint. Menthol can numb and calm an irritated, swollen throat. Peppermint has also been reported to have anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, which is why peppermint tea is a delicious and soothing answer to your sore throat.
