Almond Butter

Take a tip from Martha Hunt (she’s been on the cover of Vogue China and Harper’s Bazaar amongst other magazines, so you better listen up!) and snack on a spoonful of creamy almond butter. Almond butter is full of healthy fats, fibre and a good source of protein. Substitute your daily spread of peanut butter with almond butter, in favour of its better nutritional profile and lower salt content.  Add almond butter to your smoothie recipes or as a dip with fruits such as apples and bananas.

Making your own almond butter can’t get any easier than this:

Pour 3 cups whole almonds into your food processor and pulse. If the mixture isn’t coming together nicely, add up to 1 tablespoon of olive or coconut oil. Process the almonds until a thick and relatively smooth consistency is achieved. It can be stored in your refrigerator for up to 3 weeks!
